Chapter 1 - Rebirth


I had no clue where I was, but it seemed that I was somewhere familiar…

Breaking out from this gross slime filled pod was not easy as I'd just woken up. I hit the ground with a hard thud, the floor was matted with bricks, and that hurt.  I came down with a grunt in pain; I slowly managed to stand and surveyed my surroundings. I was in something that looked like a laboratory of sorts, with other large pods and capsules with bubbling green goo in them. I wobbled a little with each step. I felt like I'd just been hit by a boulder or something;  I struggled to walk, but I saw  a deep long hallway, just beyond the door and as what I can remember this is my home but why did I end up sleeping in a cocoon with slime and why had tubes been stuck into the back of my head, back, and in my mouth, I wasn't an experiment… was I? I looked behind me to see whatever that capsule thing was. How long was I out; days, weeks, months, or years? I looked at my person, and realized that I was practically naked, so I looked to find something to put over my bare skin, anything, and I found and old curtain and a belt. Oh well. It was better than nothing. So I draped the curtain over me, and secured the belt over my waist.

Then I managed to get on down the dark hall, and to a pair of over sized doors.

Opening those doors was a pain, and more energy consuming than what I had anticipated… I examined the area and realized that it was my father's study. I looked over to see my father, he was day dreaming in his large chair, that could have been in a palace somewhere, and beside him my mother was looking so worried and upset, like she was on the verge of breaking down. I had to get their attention, so I made a fake cough to get their attention.

They both slowly turned to me, "Hey sleepy head, you finally woke up. How do you feel?" Devon, my father, asked in a rather moody tone.

I sighed and entered slowly, somehow I had fear in my being but I said, "I feel fine, but may I ask how I ended up in there?" I walked a bit further inside and heard the door close behind me, as I pointed to the way I had just came from to get here.

My father looked uneasy about something but he continued, "You were to be reawakening…. I meant to recover you from that horrendous battle. You took quite a beating out there, and scared both me and your mother."

I was shocked at what he'd just said, "…R-really? Well I did have a weird dream… but it felt so real… do you know what that was, or why?"

I stepped a bit closer, but stopped only ten steps away from them and my father spoke again, "Can you tell me what you DO remember?" He looked really serious about it and he gave a quick glance over to my mother, and they both waited for me to speak.

"What I can remember? ...Well, it was about boy, a human boy with orange hair, he was short and he looked like he was dying, but he… he was calling out someone's name but I didn't hear it for some reason…" I stopped my recollection and looked to my parents with an embarrassed look on my face for a second.

I started laughing a small timid laugh at that thought and how it made me feel dumb in front of them.

"I guess I got harder than I thought…" I sighed, and found a chair. I sat down slowly, I was starting to feel so cold and I realized that I'd need some clothes that will keep me warm, but I said nothing about it. I was sure they'd get me some clothes later.

My father regained his vigor for a small instant, "Don't you worry! Ursula, do you want to help your little girl out?"

My mother smiled and looked to me, and a smile crept across her face, "…Hmm, How about I'll give Destiny a call?"

Devon face palmed and I just look oddly at her, Destiny, I know her, I guess, but wasn't she in labour? Anyway. It was just to make her happy, so I faked a smile and laughed, "Mother, Don't you worry. Destiny will look after me" Man, talk about trying to help.
